Dr. Anthony Fauci called back before Congress after his requests to ‘delete’ government emails uncovered by Sen. Rand Paul

Added September 3, 2026

Rand Paul's HSGAC obtained emails proving Fauci repeatedly directed colleagues to delete correspondence — including to then-NIH Director Francis Collins in Feb. 2020 — directly contradicting Fauci's 2024 sworn testimony that he never destroyed federal records. This is a second congressional recall: Fauci already invoked the Fifth 111 times in July 2025 and was referred to the DOJ for contempt. The new letter (Sept. 9, 2025) demands full 2018–2023 records on COVID origins, gain-of-function research, EcoHealth Alliance, and Wuhan Institute of Virology ties. Pattern spans at least five deletion requests dating back to 2009 — this isn't an isolated incident; it's a documented habitual practice now colliding with his prior sworn denials.
